Mirror of Strife
Vanity spreads its wings of bitter distress
Like a hostile invader of shameful habits
Sinking delusions pull me under a cloak of fear
As a hostage, witness to my captive oppressor
Spoiled pressures are pushed onto me
Demands cater to their every priority
Reality grows weary of my every move
My pride is lulled the wrong way
It can't live up to its own standards
A hasty judgement has approved
What I have chosen to forsake
Lonely is my esteem, ostracised
From what I portray to myself
The reflection in this mirror
Has cheated a selfish image
Like a hostile invader of shameful habits
Sinking delusions pull me under a cloak of fear
As a hostage, witness to my captive oppressor
Spoiled pressures are pushed onto me
Demands cater to their every priority
Reality grows weary of my every move
My pride is lulled the wrong way
It can't live up to its own standards
A hasty judgement has approved
What I have chosen to forsake
Lonely is my esteem, ostracised
From what I portray to myself
The reflection in this mirror
Has cheated a selfish image
