The Tunnel Cliche
Why does everyone compare life to a tunnel?
When one dies, there a light at the end of it.
So for all this time,
for decades, are we living in total darkness?
Do we thrive in a cold nothingness
waiting for a blinding light to raise us from our land?
I don't believe in this tunnel,
for there is no light. We are dark and twisted;
with a single dark shadow as our companion, portraying
our friends, our family, our lovers.
I will die alone, surrounded by ebony and solitude.
I don't want to see light when I pass, I want the comfort of
black
and the deep sound of rolling thunder.
