Knowledge is Power HipHop Verse 1
Start this procession bearing the gift of fresh air,
On first impressions some are glaring but most just stare,
Pairing words for a beat to wear using discretion,
Declaring daring expressions,
A young Voltaire’s despairing confessions,
Keep this session sweet no swearing like an evening prayer,
But I do dare to question profit-sharing and the affairs of billionaires,
I Compare suggestions of those who shared insight before me,
Inside my liar doing my fair share never concede,
Laissez faire,
no greed in the creed I’m holding,
Don’t impede a Johnny apply seed who knows what is unfolding,
Already told but we need to read and grow what we know,
In a book or glowing screen begin to behold,
Expose mainstream control of your soul,
I am a ho grinding on the wage pole,
A mole composing pages of scrolls reducing my ego is contagious,
The whole famous life is outrageous,
I’m on stage faceless,
Free agent nameless,
Major changes if you hear this on a station,
