Fire Sonnet
He made it look so easy for him to do
To set ablaze the house he once lived in
The raging fire takes the next house too
It's depressing to hear how his story begins
A troubled mind along with a troubled soul
His love of fire sparks a love in destruction
He can't control himself, eyes black as coal
No one knows when in came this intrusion
Many times we have offered to give help
Many times he's screamed and refused us
The fire laps at his hands and he yelps
Shame, never given anyone his trust
He walks away no expression on his face
Gone to burn another childhood place
To set ablaze the house he once lived in
The raging fire takes the next house too
It's depressing to hear how his story begins
A troubled mind along with a troubled soul
His love of fire sparks a love in destruction
He can't control himself, eyes black as coal
No one knows when in came this intrusion
Many times we have offered to give help
Many times he's screamed and refused us
The fire laps at his hands and he yelps
Shame, never given anyone his trust
He walks away no expression on his face
Gone to burn another childhood place
