POPPY
Sweetness without restraint
Paint red the blowing flowers
Hours stretched back to years
Fears became a mortal toil
Soil of war a feat of souls
Soles of feet on poppy fields
(*runner-up in Magdalena's twisted cheery names competition)

Whale, my friend,
You have truly captured the bitter-sweet paradox of the poppy.....and in essence, that which-- soo often-- is a part of life.
Scribed with Insight!
(Kudos to your much deserved recognition!!! :) )

Thank you Lobo for this - to pin a butterfly to a wall and find a moth or a poppy to a lapel in remembrance or to stab at a parallax with our nib is the best of our poet's lot - God bless us
