bRidGe OvEr tRoUblEd WaTerS!

once upon a railroad track
traveled a seemly Cat and a handsome Rat
yes a handsome rat of the sort that played a mean Ukulele..

this handsome rat was named Bon
he’d travel the track strum his strings and sing his songs
each song different but when in trouble he’d sing the same one indeed

it so happened this day
this seemly cat pounced him as he walked, played and sang

Cat stating..
..’little handsome Rat you are now my prey!’..

the Rat in turn stated..
..’Mr. Seemly Cat if you would be so kind to let me up..
I promise not to sing a tune that may conjure a Pup
one the like and size that will assuredly kill you dead!’..

the Cat pawed, rolled and frisked... and said..
..’dear Rat do explain the likes of this
for I have never heard a Rat tell such a tall tale
to keep from being eaten.’..

The Rat said..
..’there is no tall tale involved
for I have recently befriended a dog
of who I met a mile or so back
and pulled shattered glass from his paw

given such kindness he said whistle this special tune
if’n I need any assistance at all..
so it is best you unpaw and let me on my way.’..

the Cat purred..
..’what a likely story
whistle away and if he comes I guess I’ll remain hungry
but as of now I am going to eat you alive.’..

The Cat raised his paw.. extended his curvy sharp claws..

Then the Rat said..
..’as you wish!’... then began to sing aloud..

..’BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATERS!!!’…

to the Cat’s surprise
along the path of the tracks sprinted a dog humungous in size..
in the cat’s haste he released the rat
who gathered his Ukulele and sped off very fast..

the cat having been distracted by the hurried handsome rat
felt on his back two large paws and the salivation from a mad dog’s jaws..
then he heard the question..

..’WHERE CAN I FIND THAT DAMN RAT?!’..

The Cat then purred..
..’truly Mr. Dog I do not know
he said he was your friend and could bring you about
by simply singing a song..
and as he did such I was incline to let him go.’..

the Dog then exclaimed..
..’I was once the same fool..
he gave me the like story between he and a human
a mile or so back when I caught him stealing my food..

he sang that same tune and like that a Human was on his way..
but to my surprise when the human arrived
he looked to kill a rat that sang that very same song
in my haste of seeing the human the dastardly Rat escaped from my paw’..

the Dog then told the Cat that he would this once give him a pass
for he was not hungry for the Cat as much as he wanted to kill the cunning Rat
but at this point he found it best to return home..

the Cat feeling foolish and out matched by the Rat
thought it a worthy task to sniff and prowl the tracks in search of the Rat
in short time could hear in none too far a  distance..
The infamous song sung and strummed to the strings of a Ukulele..

..’BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATERS!’..
