Always Be Me
Verse 1-
Well these days they're mixin rap with country
and it sounds a little funny
if you ask me
that ain't the way it's suppose to be
I liked it just the way it was
when haggard, Waylon and Willie were doin it
when it really hit
home
oh
Chorus-
I won't change me
to fit in to the main stream
even though lately
country's become the big thing
all these Walmart cowboys
don't know a damn thing about being out on a ranch
stickin their hands in the dirt
don't know nothin about hurt
or a hard days work
nothin about this small town way of life
y'all it just ain't right
we're a dyin breed
but I'll always be
me
Verse 2-
I'll still take a steel guitar
and a banjo
that's all it takes to get me to go
I like the songs about sittin on the bar stool
bein a heart broke fool
songs about bein so in love
that enough is never enough
oh
Chorus-
I won't change me
to fit in to the main stream
even though lately
country's become the big thing
all these Walmart cowboys
don't know a damn thing about being out on a ranch
stickin their hands in the dirt
don't know nothin about hurt
or a hard days work
nothin about this small town way of life
y'all it just ain't right
we're a dyin breed
but I'll always be

Verse 3-
Maybe I'm old fashion
but I can't hide my passion
for things tried and true
how bout you
Chorus-
I won't change me
to fit in to the main stream
even though lately
country's become the big thing
all these Walmart cowboys
don't know a damn thing about being out on a ranch
