Valfar's Last Walk: The Vision

I embraced my vision as it was common for me,
you said as you started your journey
across the frozen tundra of Norway
in search of a plot of land dearest to you.
Little did you know that you would turn back.

Not knowing of having to turn back,
you simply marched forward
into that dark and cold evening.
Trudging forward towards Fagereggi,
your last marks left on the snow.

As you leave your footprints behind
navigating through the ice,
the winds turned wild and frostbitten and started
shielding your eyes and nipping at your flesh,
you realized that you could never make it.

When you realized you could never make it,
you start to become weak and vulnerable.
The storm picks up its pace, becoming colder,
you start to succomb to hypothermia.
Your last vision is revealed.

Your last vision is revealed for all to see:
in the cold, you simply could not make it,
with your last marks engraved in snow,
you chose to turn back and embrace your vision:
A fate, a destiny, an inevitable early death.
