I think of you and close my eyes

I ache to feel that time again

the spirit of us way back when.

The smallest taste of how we were

could salve a soul and make it whole.

Lost in deep emotions

how you took my heart and wrapped it tight,

held me through the night.

I miss you.

In deepest love I carried you;

the way we used to laugh and shared

those thoughts when no-one really knew or cared.

I remember all those times

flickered moments in the past

how the time flies by so fast,

and now we've lost our way

forgotten what to say.

The changing times the changing years

the changing seasons filled with tears

did we really lose so much

and did I always ask too much.

This life begun on promises

broken and forgotten.
