My back's against the ropes
I'm hidden from my hopes
I've lost my direction
And I have no place to go
What happened to that freedom
that had me locked up in your heart
Looks like the end of love
and a broken hearted start
I'm running from a cold rain
and there ain't no warm sunshine
I may never learn to live with the pain
Of leaving us behind
We almost had it all worked out
At least that's what I thought
Now I know where I went wrong
I think I'll put it in a song

I think many of us have felt that, some hold on to what they lost.... sometimes we come to realize what we lost was broken from the beginning and was a slow poison... not allowing us to grow. well written.

You should never continue to pick at a wound until you bleed to death. Put a bandaid on it and move on.
