Looking For Peace
Wandering nightly the city streets
Hoping searching looking for peace
Of mind, of heart, of body and soul.
I found him weeping on a bench in the park
Sitting all alone in the dark
His sadness was profound.
Staring at the moonlit sky
I queried "How can a thing such as you need to cry?
What pain do you possess?"
Between heartwrenching sobs what i heard
Was single, solitary, whispered word
One that was barely comprehended.
"Release"
Is what i was told by Peace
I was shocked.
I sat beside him watching clouds as they go
Thinking about things they didn't know
How i envied them.
How blind i had been to think
That there was a way to avoid how far i could sink
What a fool i was.
But now i undertood a truth that was new
One that still had always been true
Without a little chaos and despair there can be no peace.
Hoping searching looking for peace
Of mind, of heart, of body and soul.
I found him weeping on a bench in the park
Sitting all alone in the dark
His sadness was profound.
Staring at the moonlit sky
I queried "How can a thing such as you need to cry?
