I Wonder...

I wonder...

As we swing to and fro,  
do our lives shrink or grow,
turn us inside or out,
Are we sure or in doubt,

Do we push or we pull,
is it empty or full,
should we ebb or just flow,
or do none of us know.

Are we saved, or just spent,
should we lie or repent,
Shall we praise or lament,
just say no or consent.

Concur or ask why
should we laugh or just cry
are we low or up high,
Will this life pass us by.

Searching outside and in,
is it through thick or thin,
could we lose or just win,
getting under our skin.

Should we stop or we start,
find our head or our heart,
are we broken or fixed,
are we settled or mixed.

Should we leave or proceed,
be content or in need,
are we grown or just seed,
are we shackled or freed.

Do we soothe or confound,
are we lost are we found,
are our lives tightly bound,
threading through or around.

Do we shout are we mute,
do we do things to suit,
should we bow or salute,
or just end the pursuit.

Are we weakened or strong,
do we need or belong,
is it right or just wrong,
should we stay or prolong.

Tell the truth or a tale,
is it fresh or just stale,
shall we thrive or just fail,
is life small or grand scale.

As we twist do we turn
should we smoulder or burn,
become distant or yearn,
should we wing it or learn.

Do we ebb or we flow,
should we stay or just go,
Is it sweet love or hate,
is the luck really fate.
