Nazi Holocaust Predicted in the Bible
Ezekiel prophesied there would be
The valley of "dry bones"(Ezekiel 37.1).
They would morph into walking skeletons(Ez 37.7-10)
that would return to their ancestoral land(Ez 37.12)
and "become a mighty army"(Ez 37.10, KJV).
Let's forget about the morphing,
And keep the two groups separate.
(a)The "dry bones" would represent the Jews
that were killed, incinerated during the Holocaust.
(b)While the walking skeletons would refer to the survivors.
For when the concentration camps were liberated,
the Jews emerging really were walking skeletons.
The survivors did go to Israel and join the army.
In the War for Independence in May 1948,
Holocaust survivors made up twenty percent
of the victorious Israeli army.
It became "a mighty army"
for Israel whipped 5 Arab nations.
(Who knows, maybe without them,
That war might have been lost.)
In Ezekiel's vision, the Jews make a plaintive cry,
"Our hope is gone, we are cut off completely"(Ez 37.11).
Yes, during the darkest days of the Holocaust
It looked like Hitler was unstoppable:
If he won,World Jewry would most certainly have gone extinct.
How do we know this vision is set in the 1940s?
The "two sticks"(Ez 37.16-22) represent:
(a)"Ephraim" for the northern kingdom and
(b)"Judah" for the southern kingdom.
The "joining of the two sticks" is prophetic
of the reunification of the north and the south,
the 10 tribes and the 2 tribes,
back into one nation again,
after 3,000 years of separation,alienation.
Since that reunion occurred in 1949-1950,
this pins Ez 37 down as referring to the 1940s,
the decade in which the Holocaust occurred.
Also, Ezekiel 38-39 refers to the new Israel,
resulting from the return of the Jews(Ez 37.12).
The people will be "gathered from many nations"(Ez 38.8),
meaning the Jews will be returning from exile.
It will be a long, long exile for we read,
"[the mountains of Israel] had LONG lain desolate"(Ez 38.8)
By the time that the nation of Israel returns.
This fits the return of Israel in 1948,
For it followed an exile of close to 2,000 years,
From 73 AD (or you can use 135 AD) over to 1948 AD!
PS:The 10 northern tribes, the socalled "lost tribes",
remain to this day in the form of the Samaritans (just 200 as of 1949-50.But now they number about 800.) Their bloodline was diluted with gentile blood due to Assyrians removing 20,000 Israelites and replacing them with equal number of foreigners. But that isn't enough to make them half-breeds. Nobody considers King David a nonJew just because his great grandmother,Ruth, was a Moabite.The same standard should apply to the Samaritans. The Knesset and/or the Supreme Court ruled in 1949-50 they are Jews, "a sect of Judaism."

Good interpretation of the tale. Israel as a Jewish homeland was largely restored through the survivors of the holocaust.
Thanks so much for your encouragement (by agreeing with me). You'd be surprised that some Jews deny the Holocaust had very much to do with it! Mike Medved, the radio talk-show host is the one I'm referring to. He lists all the things the Jews did,buying land, draining swamps,building communes, etc, plus the help from the British, eg, the Balfour Declaration.As if that stuff was enough. But the Arab riots and terrorism were enough to cow the British into banning further Jewish immigration.So there was a real stalemate, logjam you might say. Only the Holocaust was enough to give the Western powers that ran the UN the backbone to give the land to the Jews.There would no modern-day Israel (due to the Arabs) without the Holocaust, I'm certain.
This is the reason Medved, etc can't accept the idea that the Holocaust was decisive in bringing about the Return of Israel:It would mean the Holocaust was a "good" thing as well as a totally evil atrocity. And Medved is disgusted at such a thought.He can't abide the idea that God brings good out of evil! But that's what the Bible teaches. Example:Joseph as a messiah-figure, saving the "world" from famine. That came via the evil of his being sold into slavery and then prison. His words, "You meant it for evil but God meant it for good" apply even to the Holocaust(Genesis 50.20).
