message in a bottle
I saw the puzzle pieces through the
amber bottle.
Glass tinted
and obscured by unrollected
contorted memories,
I pick it up,
swallow,
it burns;
I become more obscure,
remember less
and forget more.
The pieces still fail to fit,
but than again
ive never understood the bigger picture.
I've never been good with faces either,
I've told you this,
and until I remembered yours
have always been able to hold my liquor.
