THANKSGIVING
For the rust dusted stones
And burnished steel track
That takes me home
And takes me back
For a sandwich and coke
And warm coach seat
A fellow passenger’s joke
Frozen fields of summer's wheat
For the countless gone
And countless to come
The Holy Father
And his Holy Son
For the lamb in the manger
And the Eagle in flight
I thank all for all
Beneath this silver white light
And burnished steel track
That takes me home
And takes me back
For a sandwich and coke
And warm coach seat
A fellow passenger’s joke
Frozen fields of summer's wheat
For the countless gone
And countless to come
The Holy Father
And his Holy Son
For the lamb in the manger
And the Eagle in flight
I thank all for all
Beneath this silver white light

Oh I felt a bump in the stress scheme in this poem and noticed that the stanzas actually unudulate (second and last stanzas read with the same stress, as first and third do).
I imagine that the person in this poem has been travelling via train and gives thanks to the simple things in his life and humanity's faiths.

Thanks Big Dog - great thing about trains is that hurrying won't change a thing - so there's plenty of time for gazing

And all one can say is 'a beautiful piece indeed'
Though this piece is far beyond good/beautiful
