So Sorry

I guess I should have seen past your disguise
too many smiles covered perfect lies
but you made one mistake, left a loose end untied
you forgot to look me in the eye

What do you expect me to say?
I apologize for being more than you deserve
I know, I won't always get my way
but that's a lesson you haven't seemed to learn
I don't guess it matters
you've got nothing left to lose but your pride
and that's the reason why you lost me
I'm so sorry, you can't see what you've given up
maybe one day you'll realize
that just letting me have my moment
would have been enough

I swore I was too smart to act so stupid
too many gifts stole my attention
but you slipped up one time, and I left you behind
I found out the truth that you denied

What do you expect me to say?
I apologize for being more than you deserve
I know, I won't always get my way
but that's a lesson you haven't seemed to learn
I don't guess it matters
you've got nothing left to lose but your pride
and that's the reason why you lost me
I'm so sorry, you can't see what you've given up
maybe one day you'll realize
that just letting me have my moment
would have been enough

but I guess you'll never figure it out
you're a little slow when it comes to admitting you were wrong
but it's not like I'm not getting stronger
I'll keep moving on, I'm still so sorry
you thought that you trapped me
so sorry, you just lost me
