The Grand Hall
All paths are cast
half in shadow;
and sometimes more.
So we are taught
to be wary
of unfamiliar doors.
But what is the purpose of walking
through this endless hallway of choices
if not to fling open every entrance—
wide, and unhesitating?
So I would stand
in this marvelous
cathedral of freedom
Stand with every door
wide open
and enter every one!
half in shadow;
and sometimes more.
So we are taught
to be wary
of unfamiliar doors.
But what is the purpose of walking
through this endless hallway of choices
if not to fling open every entrance—
wide, and unhesitating?
So I would stand
in this marvelous
cathedral of freedom
Stand with every door
wide open
and enter every one!
