It's under control

Slithering into my mind
Piercing eyes everywhere
Scornful stares from strangers passing by
I hide behind my mane of curls
Not out of sorrows or shame
But of anger
Biting back my drunken tongue to those who look as is I am the dirt they walk on
Smoke exhales from my lungs as I speak to those passing by
I like feeling nothing at all
Some drink to have fun
Others smoke to soar with the birds flying through the clouds
I drink to forget
I smoke to forget
There's nothing complicated about it
No hidden meaning, nothing to ponder
We're only young once, I'll choose to be dumb now rather than later
Now don't perceive me as a uncaring party girl
Far from that, college and work consume much of my time
Still
What's the harm in having alittle fun
Even if it is just for awhile
