Slipping Gears
I’m at war with myself,
And I always have been.
Sometimes there’s a truce,
But it always starts up again.
And I always have been.
Sometimes there’s a truce,
But it always starts up again.

I understand this feeling all to well.
I write about love but the getting there part is a rollercoaster of pain. All I ca say is find the things and the people who make you feel good and be about that. As a fellow salesman once told me on the day he retired from 40 years on the job " It's all about road noise"

I do gravitate toward people who make me feel good and I cannot understand what they see in me, but I accept their friendship with all gratitude. Gratitude for what I love eases the undercurrent of pain my mind seems to constantly swim in as if the mere act of living is a sting to my soul. Thank you for your words Speak.

I can feel a real "grind" in your words... Stirs me, knowing how you put into words what I couldn't. I'm really happy you're here.
Thank you Swiss x

I like your "grind" reference in relation to the title!
The feeling is mutual Glass. :) I look forward to hearing your voice every time I see my updates; I tend to check in here a lot.
I wrote in isolation for 20 years off and on: a 20 year mistake. I decided to use this forum to post new material after I self-published a book on Amazon, which I did to finally feel like I completed something (as I think maybe 5 or 6 people have read it).
I truly hope you continue to be a regular on DUP! :)
