Shackled by chains...
Likened only to animals.

Unlike you we have souls...
We hurt, we bleed, we pray.

Poised to endlessly beat
And lash us..
You have no soul, no feeling.
Only deep rooted hatred...
From the shallow depth
Of your mind.

Look closely..
Yes closer, much closer...
Our skin colour
Is the only difference.
He is black...I am white
Chained...castigated, abused, despised
Not surprised!
See how...
Our arms and legs...both
Tethered..tightly.
We have bled...
Deeply, and into
Each others wounds!

Oh brother...you who share
With me, this pain...we are
Much closer now..as our flesh
Peels, blisters, rots, and bleeds

You.!..the participants of evil...
Pray now for the talons of hell
To be gentle...softer than these
Chains, and wounds.

Why do you hate us so?
Does our love of peace...
And brotherhood scare you so much?
How? Please tell me how...
Can our belief, our aspirations..
Be more painful than this..
Chains? Ropes? Beatings? Lashings?
Your tongue speaks vileness...
Only found in deep dark places.
Does the light frighten you?
You have not won before...
Nor will you now...not ever!
