A Sucker For Happy Endings

My Hearts a romantic and I’m a sucker for happy endings.
There’s a bitterness I can’t wash away, and
I have a problem with everything around me.

My own bed feels claustrophobic
and the sheets they try and kill me.

Did I do someone wrong
in a past life that could have hurt me?

and what about my fingers, the stains, and my teeth?
Weak.
Fragile as bone, as the words, that I speak.

Filling the air, whispers without sound.
It won’t be long now before I’m hiding.
Deep underground.

Shelter from the nightmares.
Shelter from the people.

I wish that you could see that your judgement calls are evil.
We both have goals and values, but we’re easily different people.
Tell me I’m a hypocrite.
Tell me that I’m flawed.
I’ll say that you’re no better than me.
I’ll say we all have flaws.

And so I hope that you listen, to the songs that make you happy.
They’ll be there for you like I couldn’t.
And they’ll help you with your worry.
