Winter Commute
Nature's vast display
All is hushed
A great white secret
Content to be kept a while longer
We look upon it in wonder
As we plow our way through
Driving down this snow swept highway
This scar on the land
Cut by human hands
The price She pays for progress
But the secret keeps
Content in the knowledge that She will keep
Even if we all spoil and waste away
She will keep
Her scars will fade
And we'll be no one's memory
All is hushed
A great white secret
Content to be kept a while longer
We look upon it in wonder
As we plow our way through
Driving down this snow swept highway
This scar on the land
Cut by human hands
The price She pays for progress
But the secret keeps
Content in the knowledge that She will keep
Even if we all spoil and waste away
She will keep
Her scars will fade
And we'll be no one's memory
