Into Painful Pieces
a piece for hIm
a chunk for hiM
a few more, Him
a slice for hiM
a piece for hIm
a shard for HIm
a piece for hiM
a sliver for hIm
my heart is simply breaking
but not just into simple two
pieces of my heart they're taking
breaking into three, it's true
one calms my unsettled heart
another stirs up the fires coals
in a thousand pieces broken apart
with chewed right on through holes
