Who Am I?
Who am I? I am nobody.
A youth well spent.
Promises of a lifetime,
"let's be friends forever."
Excitedly we speak
of untold adventures;
and memories are made,
only to be forgotten.
Secrets we have shared,
two hearts laid bare.
Promises of a lifetime,
"we will always laugh."
Yet telephones ring
for someone else.
Like a vibrant ship,
you have drifted away.
Fading into existence,
a wedding unattended.
Promises of a lifetime,
"our children should meet."
Great plans are made
to meet and share,
yet with other friends.
For who am I? I am nobody.
A youth well spent.
Promises of a lifetime,
"let's be friends forever."
Excitedly we speak
of untold adventures;
and memories are made,
only to be forgotten.
Secrets we have shared,
two hearts laid bare.
Promises of a lifetime,
"we will always laugh."
Yet telephones ring
for someone else.
Like a vibrant ship,
you have drifted away.
Fading into existence,
a wedding unattended.
Promises of a lifetime,
"our children should meet."
Great plans are made
to meet and share,
yet with other friends.
For who am I? I am nobody.
