Every Time You Look At Me
Everytime you look at me affectionately,
I have to look away.
If only it were because I am too timid
to show my blushing cheeks.
Everytime you look at me,
I think of every single flaw on my face.
All I can think is
“Don’t let him see you.”
My nose is a bit too large,
My smile, a bit too crooked.
I know I look tired and my eyes dull,
due to lack of sleep.
Occasionally I look up to see if you are still looking,
And to my dismay,
A little voice says
“He keeps staring because you are so foul.”
I will continue to look away,
I will always be ashamed.
Never will I stop thinking,
How could you love someone as appalling as me.
I have to look away.
If only it were because I am too timid
to show my blushing cheeks.
Everytime you look at me,
I think of every single flaw on my face.
All I can think is
“Don’t let him see you.”
My nose is a bit too large,
My smile, a bit too crooked.
I know I look tired and my eyes dull,
due to lack of sleep.
Occasionally I look up to see if you are still looking,
And to my dismay,
A little voice says
“He keeps staring because you are so foul.”
I will continue to look away,
I will always be ashamed.
Never will I stop thinking,
How could you love someone as appalling as me.
