Tragedy Strikes

I can still see her through this veil
Her green eyes wash tears
Down a face so pale.
Disheveled flaming red hair made plain
But the cold and relentless
Pouring sheet of rain.

I had never knew she loved me so much
After scenes of burning angst
And that last cutting touch.
But now here she stands, over my tomb
Choking sobs shake her form
The veil between us,
I long for her touch.

Tragedy strikes
Like lightning on the earth.
You never know
What you had
Until they lay there in the dirt.
Tragedy strikes
Like lightning from the sky.
I never knew
What I had
Until I watched her cry.

She woke to find me gone
With the keys in the night.
A worry deep in her bones
Did I run in drunken flight?
Winds lashed across her grace
As she stood in the rain.
Flashing lights upon my face
Broken before the train.

Time creeps by her shadow of life
Days are like broken shards
Until at last she found a light.
Someone has come a the end of miles
A knight in shining armor
And at last she begins to smile.

Tragedy strikes
Like lightning on the earth.
You never know
What you had
Until they lay there in the dirt.
Tragedy strikes
Like the burning of the bile
I never knew
What I had
Until at last I saw her smile.

Tragedy strikes
Like lightning on the earth.
You never know
What you had
Until they lay there in the dirt.
Tragedy strikes
Like lightning from the sky.
I never knew
What I had
Until I watched her cry.
