Highway Devils

A long dark lonely road
Blacktop crusted with blood
Car roaring with death fumes
Doom under their hoods.
Each day murder's on the prowl
For the thrill of the hunt,
Gone are days of peace
Hell is here on earth.
I can see the horizon
Joined with piles of bodies,
Killed along desolate asphalt
Long gone are their days.
More line the road as cattle,
Noon rises high in the sky,
"O, sweet devils in glory
Please sate my hunger."
Quilted in burning sands,
Real and false idols
Steal the glory of demons
'Til all that are left are dead.
Ugly faces embedded in blacktop,
Virgins watch with desire
Whilst angels weep above.
Xeroxed pictures of death
Yearn for highway gods with
Zero tolerance for mortals.
