Wild at Heart

Wild as the land it comes from
Powerful, majestic, beautiful
Free to roam, free to gallop
Tossing its mane at intruders
Eyes wild, alert, sensing danger
Neighing to warn its brothers
The lasso imprisons it
Terror fills its head
Mouth pouring foam
Nostrils flaring in anger
Hooves flash high in the air
Fighting for its freedom
Neighing in its panic
Eyes rolling in anguish
Muscles clenching in stress
The lasso tightens, choking it
Running is agony
Lunging brings pain
The wild animal beaten, trapped
The crowd roared their success
The submission was deceptive
No one can tame a wild heart
