Two Faced
An angelic face smiling
Glowing with Heaven’s light
A knife held out of sight
Eyes deep blue and beautiful
A body to die for
One wink and all reason is lost
The mask is worn.
A forked tongue fluttering in the night air
Sweet aroma of adoration fills my head and
Cupid sings the song of the new love blossoming
Beautiful music to the heart
Numbing the brain
The mask is changed.
At the alter the words come
Harsh and loud
Pushing the heart off balance
The brain races to catch up
But it is too late
The knife is raised
The mask is finally removed and
The truth slashes through the soul

Thank you Broomie. I wrote it when I was at one of my lowest points in my life. I was getting a divorce and ugly truths were coming out everywhere! I survived though! Come back anytime.
