IN DUE TIME

All she ever cries for is a child to call her own
Every day she hopes her belly gets grown
Praying to be blessed with the fruit of the womb
Nine months past no cries of a baby yet heard in her home
She yearns for that day she would become a proud mother
Hoping to celebrate, yet that day still remains unknown
Fifteen years now gone in marriage with no issue has left her world torn
Not knowing her worth as a woman she curses the day she was born
Suffering every now and then from her in-laws rejection,
Hurting more deep inside with pains of self dejection,
Sleepless nights praying and fasting for God’s intervention,
The doctor’s report says she’s not barren but why she ain’t taking in
Everybody keeps wondering why; just like she does asking questions
Where did she go wrong? Why does it have to be her always singing a sad song
More pain she nurses coz her man doesn’t seem to understand her all along
Happiness has never been her friend sorrows is all she knows as her companion
Where is all the bliss promised her from her Holy matrimonial Union
She has no child of her own but she loves all children with passion
Every one of them she treats with love, care and intense adoration
Her eyes shed blood for tears for all unborn kids
She wishes were hers; killed every day by cruel abortions
She laments for just one; prematurely in the bin many are thrown away
Saddened by what she sees and feels she decides to dedicate her life to charity
She adopts babies she could cater for and raise as her new fond responsibility
A virtuous Woman committing herself to the service of God and humanity
Who would ever believe she would someday find such immeasurable joy
That memorable day came unexpected; she delivered a bouncing baby boy
Her experience I sincerely hope will teach many a lesson
Never give up on God; Coz He never gives up on us
In Him alone we should always put our hopes and trust.
