DAILY RANTINGS OF OUR VERA

DAILY RANTINGS OF OUR VERA

People chatting in their dozens old folks talking about their cousins
Guess who’s died and not so old? chitter chatter let the story unfold

Will there be another wedding? Maureen bought some brand new bedding
Peter had a hip replacement and next doors fire has caused displacement

A neighbour’s dog has won a prize although it comes as no surprise
They’re always doing this and that and the son he wears that funny hat

And what about the blonde girl’s baby who’s the father? Stephen maybe
All the parties and her drinking and those men what were they thinking?

Trying to draw my weekly pension cheeky kids they cause me tension
Running round and making noise it’s obvious they've got no toys

So how’s your brother now he’s single does he drink and like to mingle?
Down the bookies horses courses or with the choir such happy voices

I went to supermarket shopping prices high they get me hopping
Had a chat with my friends brother he can spin em’ like no other

I bought some flowers yesterday to send my sister on her way
She always smiled said how do you do shame she died at 92

I lost my bus pass did you know? it’s something that you have to show
Driver made me pay full fare I could have screamed and dragged his hair

I'm sorry but I’ll have to go I'm off to doctors about my toe
He’s says my toe is growing wrong standing on my feet too long

No doubt next week we’ll both here seeking bargains have no fear
Have a chin wag here and there then go see Barbara to do my hair

Have lovely holiday, and give my love to Uncle Ray
Talk to him and see if you, can meet next week with something new

People gossip don’t you think spreading rumours what a stink
I'm really glad we’re not like them so bye for now see you again
