Casper's Song

Bared my skin and bones out in the cold
We were all lost, adrift and getting old
I saw a shard of burning hopeful light
Never thought you'd deliver me in a silver plate, to fight alone

Oh, why'd you corner me by the gears
I'm too heavy to carry for 19 years
And it's a long path to where we die
Couldn't trust your words, but then again...I couldn't trust mine

How'd you get in so far and deep?
How'd you find a way to righteously keep all things you stole from me?
It's no use if you're overlooked
All you ever really did was asking why you never got asked to be mine....

I don't think I can see you anymore
I try to be gentle and not settle the score
I'm full of little lights that burn out
Just can't get used to your so called insults and mistakes, dear fuck up

You were blunt, but meant to stay
Wish you were invisible and painless
It's the longest ache you'll ever feel
Yearn the dust accumulating in your lungs...
