The Halifax Monologue
She fell down on the fence
Clear of love or defense
I caught her halfway down
And I won't let her go now
Lived right upon my street
Lightened above the upbeat
I saw her fade a while back
Said the skies here we turning black
I'm an abandoned ship and she's my anchor
I'd sink without her strength
As far as I breathe I'm all hers
The Halifax monologue I wrote
It's all from here
I always wondered how
She got up from the ground
After such a terrible start
It would just tear me apart
Halifax has stood up
I badly need a grim
Cause we're still here
We're still here
Clear of love or defense
I caught her halfway down
And I won't let her go now
Lived right upon my street
Lightened above the upbeat
I saw her fade a while back
Said the skies here we turning black
I'm an abandoned ship and she's my anchor
I'd sink without her strength
As far as I breathe I'm all hers
The Halifax monologue I wrote
It's all from here
I always wondered how
She got up from the ground
After such a terrible start
It would just tear me apart
Halifax has stood up
I badly need a grim
Cause we're still here
We're still here
