Colorado

Your rugged peaks of colors I didn't grow up with,

rich sands, reds, coppers and soft sage greens.

Tree lines, elk, bears, mountain lions,

Garden of the Gods, what a magnificent place.

Winters where the sun shines.

Magpies building stick nests.

Abbot's squirrels with cute tufted ears.

These are some of the things I will miss,

when I leave you.
