Memories on paper

She sits in class.
Hood over her head.
Pen in her hand.

Chiped black nail polish.
She hides the secrets in her
eyes.
But sends them to her hand.

Beginning to write.

She grips the pen hard.
Her eyes widen.
So into that piece.
Nothing can distract her.

Her mind is tangled in old memories.
Letting them release through pen and
paper.

A masterpiece of hurtfullness.

She oozes a tear from her cold silver
eye.
The memories are strong.
Leaving her scarred.
Almost like broken hearts in a jar.

She keeps this piece of paper close.
Never wanting to let it go.
Holding on forever.
But the time has come.
Lighter to paper.

Watching the flames burn into dark
memories.
Scaring her.
Wishing she could change the past.
Of memories that came to fast.
