There Once Was a Little Girl...
There once was a little girl
She tumbled down a well
One morning she came to drink
But slipped and down she fell
This little girl was a wealthy type
Dressed in the prettiest dresses
Freckles upon her perfect nose
And bathed-in-gold tresses
Her eyes were a piercing blue
Not unlike a sharp cold icicle
Her thin mouth was very rosy
Some would say she was beautiful
The well she fell down was forbidden
Some said it was darkly possessed
But this little girl paid no mind
She was thirsty and human at best
She leaned over the hole for a sip
An unseen force shoved her in
She screamed and clawed at the air
Crying out again and again
She fell and fell until she hit bottom
But there was no water to drown
Her dress was torn, face dirty
She screamed for hours to be found
Oh, the townspeople searched hard!
Searched for their precious princess
No ever thought she'd go to the well
"She's a good little girl" said the mistress
But as night fell and people slept
The little girl cried and cried
She fumbled for hours on end
Trying to find a place to climb
But she was trapped by the stone
The vertical cobbled streets
She was still oh so thirsty!
Stomach aching for something to eat
Then when midnight drew near
In the pitch blackness of the night
She heard the whispering voices
She thought she saw a light
The wall around seemed to disappear
Spirits rose from the hard ground
She shrank from their presence
Too afraid to make a single sound
At first they just gazed at her
Quiet as could possibly be
But their evil eyes were not kind
No, not even a bit remotely
Then suddenly her breath was gone
Blood poured from mouth and eyes
Her garbled yells and screams
Seemed to accelerate her demise
The demons shrieked with glee
They hissed with a devilish tongue
"The last soul needed to join us!
The night has only just begun"
She tumbled down a well
One morning she came to drink
But slipped and down she fell
This little girl was a wealthy type
Dressed in the prettiest dresses
Freckles upon her perfect nose
And bathed-in-gold tresses
Her eyes were a piercing blue
