Burden

They say,

He won’t give one

more than one can bare

yet the questions swhirl ‘round

can He not see,

or don’t He even care?

This weight is far too much to take

The ebbin’ of life’s soul is fadin’

Too many obstacules to overtake

This burden on my back’s ‘bout to break

Screamin’ to the heavens with ‘fainted’ calls

please help me for goodness sake, before I fall

never one to just lie down die

yet death seems so inviting in my hopeless eye

oh Jesus save me from myself I cry

it’s getting’ harder to believe happiness isn’t just a lie.

Don’t look me in my face

And stand there to declare what He won’t do

Becuz this burden is bearin’ ever more on my skin

Patience bout used up, at the very least runnin thin

They say He won’t give one more than one can bare?

Wonder how you’d feel if it felt to you like He didn’t care
Never the less, I'M HOLDING OUT hope,
that when I need him most

I'll turn, and find him standing alongside me here…
