In The Window (Part I)
One night I was alone
Shadows drowned the sun
Dimmed by the darkness
The day was finally done
An unfamiliar calm
Triggered an eerie sense
Locking up the house
uncomfortable suspense
Sit to watch a movie
The Bright TV glare
Nervous by the notion
Eyes on me in a stare
Dark spills Through windows
Alert with every creek
Creating an explanation
A mouse or dripping leak
Focused on the film
A sound from the door
Again a little louder
To much to just ignore
Take a breath be calm,
Old houses making sound
Reminding myself again
There’s nobody around
Stop working up excitement
Tricks playing in my mind
Outside so still & peaceful
Until the windmill chimed
Not a single movement
There is nothing to see
Yet I'm still frightened
Someones watching me
Turned on a funny movie
Cant shake the intuition
Denied the urge to go
Paranoid suspicion
I'm sure I hear something
footsteps lightly walking
Turn down the volume
To hear faint whisper talking
Eyes wander to window
Marks when horror began
Found what I was seeking
Out the window was a man
Act as I hadn't’t noticed
My heart is in a race
Trying not to look
I couldn't’t see his face
Shatter-proof-glass windows
A fortress I'm inside
Hard to gain entry
Even if he tried
Directly through the glass
Suddenly we lock eyes
Now I'm not alone
Yet no one to hear my cries
Room light cripples vision
Turn it off to see out clear
But suddenly he vanished
How could he disappear?
I turn the light on quickly
He’s still standing there
His hand reaches out
I feel him touch my hair
Frozen with fear trembling
Should I be begging for my life?
I could see us in the reflection
When he pulled out the knife
To be Continued…….
