Solace from a Stranger

Confessing to a stranger
Is somewhat a liberator
And solace it will bring later

Well,so I've been told...

I'm going to share with you my story
And it may get a bit gory
Believe me when I say it wasn't all hunky dory

But first...

I wish to be without a name
For what I'm about to say brings me shame
And I would like to remain the same
Mysterious, sinful dame

Okay, here it goes...

Forgive me for my sin
For it all started with a bottle of gin
Due to the situation I was in...

I got highly intoxicated -
supremely infatuated -
With a man so overrated

With a perfectly chiseled physique
And a mind so bleak
Our affair was descreet

My poor husband, though oblivious,
Knew nothing of my deeds that were so malicious
But he grew more and more suspicious

On the other hand...

My secret lover was overwhelmed by a greedy feeling
He found exposing ourselves to my husband appealing
But we had both agreed on never squealing

I found this sudden change of heart disturbing
I had to prevent my husband from hurting
It was truly a matter so concerning

See, my husband is a kind fellow
One who's rather mellow
A real catch, I know

However, excitement he lacked
This his finances never backed
And his good nature never cracked

This excitement I found elsewhere
And it contained a certain flare

I had to end it now
So I said to my sexy beast, "Ciao!"
I thanked him, blew him a kiss and took a bow

He held a strong grudge
He was going to tell my husband - he wouldn't budge
And all I thought was "What the fudge?"

That's it! Damn that son of a pony
That good for nothing phony!

I went over to his house and his cold heart I stabbed
With a thick knife I jabbed and I jabbed

I got away with it...

Only 'cause I had a really believable alibi
That soon became my lullaby

I was haunted by memories of him
And my ever-so-bright glow became dim

Of course, my husband never found out
What all the sneaking around was about

I guess they were right...

Confessing to a stranger
IS somewhat a liberator
And solace it does bring later

Well, thank you for lending me your ear
My conscience is now clear
You, sweet stranger, have been such a dear
