Close To Nothing
Darkness
That's all I see
Empty
That's how I feel
There's a hole
A hollow part where my heart used to be
I feel numb
If numbness can be truly felt
Ironic,isn't it?
How one can feel numbness
But I do feel it
Each and every day
I'm drawing nearer to it
My biggest fear
I'm getting closer
Closer

Nothing

Ah, numbness is indeed a feeling. The despair and existential angst
comes through loud and clear. The short lines push us through
to the end in a relentless collapse into nothingness.

Becoming nothing can be a blessing in disguise. When the old is demolished, we can start to build anew...so easier said than done. Thank you for this poem :)
