What would happen

The obvious problems
In the world today?

No dents
No scratches
Or smells
Or sounds
Not whether or not

Would it be
So terribly hard
Allowing the grass
To grow in the yard?

No shattering news
Of faults and quakes
No negative views
Whatever it takes?

Just one day
Let silently lie
All that is lacking
Just let it all die?

Then maybe what's missing
That thing left behind
Will finally stop
And clear out your mind.

Maybe the reason
It bangs on your head
Is you nightmare all night
And then drag it from bed.

Instead of sleeping dogs lie
