Proud
when he was growin up
he was a little wild and crazy
maybe
runnin a little too free
in that small town
oh his feet never did quite touch the ground
he joined the army and went over seas
cant imagine the things he's seen
oh
he drove a skidder till the day he died
loved his kids
loved his wife
made a lot of mistakes over the years
there were a lot of laughs and a lot of tears
he taught me a lot about life
wrong from right
even though he's not here now
i know he's up there lookin down
and i hope he's proud
met grandma when she was real young
but they fell in love
had a couple little ones
two hell raisin boys
did their best to keep them in line
dont know how they didnt lose their minds
oh
he drove a skidder till the day he died
loved his kids
loved his wife
made a lot of mistakes over the years
there were a lot of laughs and a lot of tears
he taught me a lot about life
wrong from right
even though he's not here now
i know he's up there lookin down
and i hope he's proud
he taught me the worth
of puttin my hands in the dirt
now that i'm grown
and out on my own
he's still with me
still makes me believe
oh
he drove a skidder till the day he died
loved his kids
loved his wife
made a lot of mistakes over the years
there were a lot of laughs and a lot of tears
he taught me a lot about life
wrong from right
even though he's not here now
