Little Things
The flowers were nice
But they’re getting old
I wanted coffee instead
But you wouldn’t listen
To what I’d plainly said
Thank you for dinner
It was quite nice
But don’t tell me you’ll make it for me
Then ask me to help
Especially without
Telling me what you want me to do
Then cooking the steak ‘till it was done
I wanted the blood and you know that too
I appreciate the wine
It was a nice added touch
But where was my wine glass
Instead of a cup
And I said a little not a whole lot
Don’t lie to me too
I know you were hoping
I’d drink the whole bottle
Just for some head
But I’ll take care of myself tonight
I suggest you do the same
Especially after an insult
Did you think it would help you?
I know you were trying
I don’t mean to be nit-picky
But it’s those little things that matter
But they’re getting old
I wanted coffee instead
But you wouldn’t listen
To what I’d plainly said
Thank you for dinner
It was quite nice
But don’t tell me you’ll make it for me
Then ask me to help
Especially without
Telling me what you want me to do
