"Rememberance."

I want to crucify my heart
Leave it suspended by its
death knell in the air
All the empaths tuned-in
nearby will know it was there

What grand display life
being bled-out makes
One thing in this fleeting
existence, no soul can fake

Emotions flexed and stretched-
out beyond what's fathomable
They are no longer malleable
Long ago lost resilience

Ambivalence would be welcome
sigh but, that well has run dry
Bones within cracked and no
longer contain life-sustaining
nutrients

So the spirit that flows thru
them lacks their regenerating
surplus
Alone my soul sighs

Out in immense ocean of
listlessness, drift I
All attempts to resuscitate
only go awry

Now only indwelling pain has
taken residence
And it seems to be the
appropriate ending

I will make one final act of
faith to amend with fairy-tale
strides that in by-gone times
accompanied me my side
