Poets are pleading –
Bring the parts together!
Tragedy
Surrender
Ecstasy
Death
All launder the lazy brown eye
but love is the long range lens
that illumines the battlefield
The enemy that lies within
Sneaks out at night
To fight the light
We keep thinking
things are outside of us
or maybe inside of us
but they just are
and we love or
don’t love
the lack of tenderness
we see in ourselves . . .
