A GENTLE RAIN
A GENTLE rain bore the news this day
So eloquently did she whisper into my ear
Nature soothes the pain in her mysterious ways
On a bench in a park alone with her in my heart
She revealed to me the tale's ending with a start
Tick-tock murmured the beating of my sad heart
A blue jay fluttered onto my seat with quizzical eye
A talon of flower -- who says the ending is bitter sweet?
The ground kissed me as the clock moved -- a quarter to none
A gentle rain bore the news this wet and somber day
But sunshine tore through the clouds for me you see
As I saw so I went to greet the source of you--me--and all
