Cast Out

From the wastes
To the gates of Pandemonium
I have ruled
And fed my delirium
I can still see
The scorn in the Father’s eyes
When I wanted
Was to earn his pride
But I was cast out
To be forever shunned
Forced to live
In all this rot and dung
How can Heaven be
Full of light without me?
I am the light bringer
Still Heaven glows without me
I can still see
The spires among the clouds
But it always seems
Out of reach from the ground
I wish I could take
To the air on these embered wings
To join those above
In their merriment and sing
But the only song
I know, is sour inside my heart
I was cast out
To be the ruler of the dark
This is my home
Now made of filth and brimstone
Forever abandoned
To read from the darkest tomes
To gather souls
Unfit like me, thrown away
They are bound to me
To never again see the light of day
