Gashly Crumb
My apartment is covered in horror geek porn
We have Vincent and even Nosferatu do my walls adorn
But lately I find my eyes drawn more often than any
to Mr Edward Gorey's Gashlycrumb Tinie
The images are dark but each seems more soothing than the last
all are dark grey pictures of the past
They depict the oddest of creatures in the oddest of vocations
and all I ever picture is their lives before these dreadful situations
How did young Amy fall down the stairs
was she pushed or was it an accidental affair
Then there was Basel assaulted by bears
who did put his lunch box way out there
why did young George crawl under that rug?
was it a game or did someone convince him he was a slug
Some creature struck little Kate in the head with an axe
or was she a little idiot mistaking front for back
The little boy Xerxes devoured by mice
but who locked the young boy in that basement for life
All of these questions we should ask Edward Gorey
I'm sure he's responsible for all of these stories
