Seven days of bondage- Day 3
He locked me in his cage
I was his little pet
On my hands and knees
He made me very wet
The chain around my wrist
Meant I had to stay
He fed me from a bowl
On our petting day
He patted me on the head
And made me wear a gag
The very best pet
That he has ever had
When he let me out
He kissed and gave me thanks
My reward and his pleasure
Copious amount of spanks
I was his little pet

Your work and this subject matter is really growing on me, and a thing that occurs to me here is that the beat is off because of the pattern mismatch. The number next to the line is the number of beats:
He locked me in his cage 6
I was his lit/tle pet 6
On my hands and knees 5
He made me very wet 6
The chain a/round my wrist 6
Meant I had to stay 5
He fed me from a bowl 6
On our pet/ting day 5
He pat/ted me on the head 7
And made me wear a gag 6
The ver/y best pet 5
That he has ev/er had 5
When he let me out 5
He kissed and gave me thanks 6
My re/ward and his plea/sure 7
Co/pi/ous a/mount of spanks7
The first 6 lines make a pattern the mind can follow but then it begins to unravel and the mind has a hard time keeping up the structure as it disintegrates. This can be used to your advantage if this is what you mean to do….a musical ploy to force the mind….but that does not seem to be the mission here, to mimic the content with the beat, onomatopoeia.
So, I was thinking of adjusting the pattern internally like:
He locked me in his cage
I was his little pet
And on my hands and knees
He made me very wet
The chain around my wrist
It meant I had to stay
He fed me from a little bowl
It was our petting day
He patted me upon the head
And made me wear a gag
I was very bestest pet
I think he he's ever had
And when he let me out
He kissed and gave me thanks
His pleasure, my reward?
Abundant rounds of spanks
In any case, tuning up the meter is one way to empower the lines to do your bidding. Forgive my lending a hand out of turn…..

Thank you for your advice here. Any attention to my writing is positive and helpful. I am generally not one for rules with creativity and tend to go with my own flow. Often it takes be about 5 mins to write something and then it's afterwards I read, re read and at times adjust.
