The Last Breath

I look into the mirror as the final tears fall from my eyes. There are no words to describe the pain.
A shuffle, an open drawer, and the silent ping of steel are the only sounds to break the silence of the room.
My flesh burns, I bite my lip and hold back a sigh of relief as the blade bites through my flesh.
Sweet ecstasy fills my body as the blood flows without warrant. I sit back and sigh as the cold steel bites again and again.
There is nothing to do now but wait, wait for the blade to be satisfied, for it's hunger to recede.
I close my eyes and drift off into an endless dream.

I walk for miles before the figure appears. Hooded in black, carrying an aura of pure black.
I approach and open my mouth to speak, but no sound escapes. Only five words escape his seemingly non-existent lips:

"You've taken your last breath." His ice cold hand clutches my wrist and we disappear into the darkness of death.
